Hello and welcome to my business website, thank you for visiting.

I started GP Computer Support Scotland at the end of 2014 to provide a personal, friendly, on-site services to home computer users and small businesses primarily in the central Scottish Borders, in and around Galashiels. That said, I can also offer regular support in the Dunbar area as long as your needs aren’t urgent.

In addition to local hands-on IT help, GP Computer Support Scotland offers remote support and website design services which are not confined to the Scottish Borders.

I personally have nearly 30 years of computer experience and have been employed in information services at management level. I hope to share that experience by helping you with your IT needs however simple or demanding they may be.

  • Hardware / Software Installation
    GP Computer Support Scotland can help computer users right from the very start with initial set up your hardware (PC, printer, broadband router etc.) and / or installation and configuration of your software. If you hire me to do the hardware set up and / or install the software I may be able to provide impartial pre-purchase recommendations by discussing your requirements before you buy.
  • Training
    If you need help using your PC, GP Computer Support Scotland can provide training in many subjects including using the Internet & Email, Microsoft Office, photo manipulation and more.
  • System Maintenance

  • Should system maintenance, security and data backup be something you need, GP Computer Support Scotland can carry out the necessary housekeeping and evaluate your specific backup and security needs and devise a bespoke solution. We can source antivirus software at significantly discounted rates.

  • Troubleshooting
    Is your computer misbehaving, running slowly, giving you puzzling error messages or deleting files, contact us before it’s too late. It’s very rare that problems go away on their own.
  • Website Design
  • Do you need a website for your business, charity or social group ? GP Computer Support Scotland can design and set up the site and find you a good deal for the hosting and domain name purchase.
  • Convenience
    Whenever possible work will be carried out on-site for you but if there is an access problem or time constraints then some work may be done off-site or, if appropriate, via remote access. Training will normally be provided on-site or via remote access unless there are exceptional circumstances. Web design will normally be carried out off-site after a full on-site consultation regarding structure, aesthetics and content.
